Lease enfranchisement is the process of long leaseholders in a building collectively purchasing the freehold interest.
Although this is a much talked about area of property law especially in London, very few law firms can be confident in advising clients in this area.
At Lloyd & Associates LLP, we have specialist expertise in this area to guide our clients through this process.
Long leaseholders of flats in converted houses and purpose built blocks have the right to buy the freehold of their building if:
- the building contains at least 2 flats
- the flats are let on leases of more than 21 years
- no more than 25% of the building floor area is non-residential
- at least 50% of the long leaseholders participate
If you think you may qualify or would like further information including being sent our detailed lease enfranchisement brochure, please contact either Christopher Lloyd or Caroline Sielle who will be pleased to assist. |
